We were in no rush in planning our wedding so we took time to view a range of wedding venues. Although we had viewed a variety of locations we were having trouble finding a location that just ‘felt right’. After attending a wedding expo and meeting Michelle we were impressed with her professional display and we decided to look into Pelican Water Golf Club as a venue option. As soon as we met with Michelle and saw the venue we both agreed that it was the perfect place to celebrate our marriage. With plans for the ceremony to be held at Sir Leslie Wilson Park, Dicky Beach this was the perfect location for our reception to follow.
In organising our wedding day it was really important that the venue and celebrations reflected our desire for a small, intimate but beautiful wedding. Our priority was to spend the day with close family and friends celebrating the beginning of the next stage of our family life. Erik had been quite worried in the lead up to the wedding about making sure his vows were perfect. He had spent many evenings trying to figure out exactly what he should say. As the days drew closer to the wedding Shanda had finalised her vows while Erik was still reviewing his the night before.
However, on the day it all came together perfectly with Erik managing to fit in some comedy and romance in his little speech. We still have our Vow cards and plan to keep them as a momento from the day.Driving to the ceremony the storm clouds were circling with the occasional sprinkling of rain. Shanda was terribly worried the planned beach side wedding would have to be changed for the alternative wet weather plan. However, thankfully the rain held out and the outdoor ceremony and photos went just as planned. The highlight of our wedding day was saying ‘I do’ at Dicky’s Beach, a seaside location Shanda had grown up holidaying at as a child.
Arriving at Pelican Waters Golf club we were greeted with Michelle’s smiling face. Michelle quickly introduced us to Bronte who guided us around the golf course for photos and then looked after us for the duration of the night. The Pelican Waters Golf Club staff were exceptional and they really helped make the night one to remember. We would definitely recommend Pelican Waters Golf Club and staff for people looking to have a special wedding.
